

In season 2 episode 4 of All in the Family, titled "Edith Writes a Song," Edith Bunker is inspired to write a song after attending a funeral for a neighbor. She shares her lyrics with her husband, Archie, and daughter, Gloria, but they are dismissive and critical of her efforts. However, Edith's determination to pursue her passion leads her to seek out the help of a professional songwriter who offers to collaborate on the project. As she works on her song, Edith gains confidence and pride in her musical abilities, but receives further criticism from Archie when she decides to perform it at a local talent show. Despite the negative reaction from some members of the audience, Edith's bravery and perseverance in pursuing her passion shines through in this episode. Along the way, the Bunker family also grapples with issues related to religion, race, and gender roles, as they navigate their sometimes rocky relationships with each other and the world around them.
