The Alaska State Troopers are back in action for the fifth season, and in episode five, titled "Burglars & Bears," the team is faced with a variety of challenges. As always, the troopers are on the front lines of law enforcement, keeping the peace and discovering new ways to keep Alaskans safe.
The episode begins with a report of a burglary in a small community outside of Fairbanks. The victim reports that a number of valuable items were stolen from their home, including jewelry, electronics, and cash. Trooper Nolan Klouda is dispatched to the scene to investigate, and he quickly realizes that the suspect likely had some help from the inside. After conducting a thorough investigation, Klouda is able to identify a suspect and track them down. But when he arrives at their home, he discovers that they have fled, leaving behind a cache of stolen items and evidence that will help lead to their arrest.
Meanwhile, in a remote area of Alaska, Troopers Jon Simeon and Brent Hatch are tasked with responding to a report of a bear attack. When they arrive on the scene, they find a man who has sustained serious injuries after being mauled by a grizzly bear. Despite the remote location and the severity of the victim's injuries, the two troopers are able to call in a rescue helicopter and evacuate the man to a nearby hospital.
Back in Fairbanks, Trooper Gage Skidmore is conducting patrols when he receives a call reporting a case of domestic violence. When he arrives on the scene, he finds a victim who has been badly beaten by their partner. After talking with the victim and assessing the situation, Skidmore is able to apprehend the suspect and take them into custody. But the case is far from over, as Skidmore is also tasked with ensuring that the victim receives the support and resources they need to rebuild their life after the traumatic incident.
As the episode continues, the Alaska State Troopers showcase their expertise and dedication time and time again. From investigating burglaries and domestic violence cases to responding to bear attacks and rescuing stranded motorists, the troopers of the Alaska State Troopers are always ready to serve and protect their community.
The episode ends with the stolen items from the burglary being returned to their rightful owner, the bear attack victim on the road to recovery, and the domestic violence victim receiving the support they need. The troopers go home knowing that they made a positive impact in the lives of those they helped that day.
