Ep 7. Campground Crazies

In Alaska, the state troopers face unique challenges and situations every day. In season 4 episode 7, titled "Campground Crazies," the troopers are called to respond to incidents at several different campgrounds throughout the state.

The episode begins with Trooper Koenig responding to a call about a potentially dangerous situation at a campground in Kenai. A group of people have gathered and are reportedly firing guns in the campground. Koenig quickly arrives on the scene and assesses the situation. He manages to diffuse the situation and get the group to comply with state laws by safely storing their firearms and ceasing shooting within the campground.

Meanwhile, Trooper Dahl responds to a different campground near the town of Delta Junction where a group of campers have reported that their campsite had been broken into and several items were stolen. Dahl assists in documenting the crime scene and is able to gather information about possible suspects. His investigation leads him to a suspect who is eventually arrested and charged with theft and burglary.

Later in the episode, Trooper Stariha responds to a campground outside of Ketchikan where a couple has reported that their baby has fallen ill. The couple is stranded on an island and are unable to leave due to high tide. Stariha works quickly to arrange a Coast Guard helicopter to airlift the family to safety and to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Finally, the episode concludes with Trooper Howie responding to a call from a group of campers who were involved in a car accident on the Kenai Peninsula. One of the passengers in the vehicle is injured and requires medical attention. Howie provides emergency first aid until the ambulance arrives.

Throughout the episode, the troopers demonstrate their expertise and professionalism as they handle a wide variety of situations. From dealing with armed groups and conducting criminal investigations to providing medical aid and rescuing stranded families, the troopers’ work is always demanding and unpredictable. The episode serves as a reminder of the important role that state troopers play in protecting the safety and well-being of the citizens and visitors of Alaska.
