In the first episode of Alaska Monsters season 1, titled "Central Alaska's Bigfoot," a team of experienced outdoorsmen named the "Alaska Midnight Sons" sets out on a mission to find evidence of the legendary creature known as Bigfoot. The team of six includes team leader Todd, a former corrections officer and avid hunter; Jeff, a mechanical expert; Levi, a wilderness guide; Rhett, a lifelong Alaskan and outdoorsman; Don, a survival specialist; and Wild Bill, a former marine and experienced tracker.
The episode begins with the team receiving a call from a woman in Delta Junction, Alaska, who claims to have seen a large, hairy creature outside her window one night. She also reports hearing strange noises coming from the woods behind her house. She believes that the creature might be Bigfoot and begs the Midnight Sons to investigate.
Excited at the prospect of finding evidence of Bigfoot, the team sets out to Delta Junction, armed with night-vision cameras, thermal imaging equipment, and an array of other high-tech gadgets. They begin their investigation by interviewing the woman who called them and examining the area around her house for any signs of Bigfoot.
As they investigate, the team starts to hear strange sounds coming from the woods, including whoops and shrieks that they believe could be made by Bigfoot. They also find several large footprints in the ground that appear to be much too big to have been made by a human.
Encouraged by these findings, the Midnight Sons sets up camp in the woods near the woman's house and begins a stakeout. As they wait, they continue to hear strange noises and see movement in the woods. At one point, they even catch a glimpse of what appears to be a large, hairy figure moving through the trees. But when they investigate, they find no further evidence of the creature.
Undeterred, the team decides to expand their search to other areas of central Alaska. They travel to a town called Fairbanks and meet with a man named Christopher who also claims to have seen Bigfoot. Christopher tells them that he was hiking in the woods when he saw a large, ape-like creature walking on two legs. He is convinced that it was Bigfoot and even managed to take a blurry photograph of the creature before it disappeared.
The Midnight Sons analyze Christopher's photo and determine that it could be evidence of Bigfoot. They decide to investigate the area where the photo was taken and set up a camera trap to try and capture footage of the creature.
As the episode draws to a close, the team checks the camera trap and finds that it has been triggered. Excitedly, they review the footage and are shocked to see a large, hairy creature walking through the woods. While the footage is blurry and difficult to make out, the team is convinced that they have finally found evidence of Bigfoot.
Overall, the first episode of Alaska Monsters is an exciting introduction to the show. The Midnight Sons are a likable and competent team, and their investigation of Bigfoot is both engaging and compelling. While the lack of concrete evidence may disappoint some viewers, the team's enthusiasm and willingness to explore the unknown make for an entertaining viewing experience.
