Akame ga Kill! season 1 episode 3, titled "Kill the grudge," continues to follow the story of Tatsumi, a young boy who has joined the assassination group Night Raid to help overthrow the corrupt government ruling the country of the Empire.
The episode opens with a flashback to a young girl named Chelsea, who was severely beaten and left for dead by a group of bandits. She was saved by a member of Night Raid named Najenda and vowed to one day join the group and seek revenge against those who wronged her.
Back in the present day, Tatsumi and the rest of Night Raid are given a new assignment to assassinate a corrupt politician named Minister Onest who has been embezzling from the government. However, they soon discover that the Minister has hired an infamous hitman named Zank, who is known for his ability to control his anger and grudges to become a deadly assassin.
Chelsea is tasked with taking down Zank and uses her feminine wiles to get close to him at a nearby bar. They drink and flirt, but Chelsea slowly begins to realize that Zank may be more dangerous and unpredictable than she originally anticipated.
Meanwhile, Tatsumi and the other members of Night Raid set up a plan to take down the Minister at his mansion. They begin their attack by fighting off his guards and making their way inside the heavily fortified building. They eventually reach the Minister, but are surprised to find that he has a powerful Teigu (a powerful weapon that can only be used by certain individuals) that makes him nearly invincible.
As the battle between Night Raid and the Minister rages on, Zank joins the fray and clashes with Chelsea. He proves to be a formidable opponent, but Chelsea uses her quick thinking and cunning to get the upper hand. She finally takes him down, but not before being seriously injured herself.
Despite the many obstacles they encounter, Night Raid is ultimately successful in their mission and kills Minister Onest. However, they must now deal with the aftermath of their actions and the repercussions that come with openly opposing the Empire.
Overall, "Kill the grudge" is an action-packed episode that delves deeper into the personal motivations and backstories of the members of Night Raid. It also sets the stage for the ongoing conflict between Night Raid and the Empire, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats and eager to see what happens next.
