Ep 32. Normal Man

In season 7 episode 32 of Adventure Time, titled "Normal Man," we see the return of a character we first met a few seasons earlier: Magic Man's brother, named Normal Man. As the episode opens, we see Normal Man sulking in his lab as he struggles to adopt a "normal" life in the wake of his brother's disappearance. Through their adventure, we see Normal Man open up about the guilt he feels for renouncing his powers and putting his brother in a position of power, ultimately causing him to become the problematic villain he is known as. Meanwhile, Finn and Jake begin to discover more about the nature of the orange goo they're up against and meet some interesting characters along the way, including a group of creatures that have been living underground to avoid the destruction above.

As the episode progresses, we see Normal Man come to realize that he can still use his knowledge of magic to help save the day, even if he has sworn off his powers. He and Finn work together to close the rift and stop the orange goo from threatening the Land of Ooo any further.

Overall, "Normal Man" is a satisfying episode that explores some deeper themes than we typically see in Adventure Time. The story is a reminder that sometimes we have to confront our past mistakes and make peace with them before we can move forward, and that ultimately, even those without superpowers can make a difference in the world. The episode also features some wonderful animation and characterizations, as we've come to expect from one of the most creative and engaging cartoons in recent memory.
