In the episode "Apple Wedding" of Adventure Time season 5, viewers are taken on a journey to the land of the Treeforts. Here, the beloved character Tree Trunks is preparing to marry Mr. Pig. As the title suggests, the episode revolves around the wedding festivities and the various hurdles that the characters must overcome to ensure that the ceremony goes smoothly.
The episode opens with Tree Trunks inviting Finn and Jake to her upcoming wedding to Mr. Pig. Jake is initially skeptical of the marriage, as Tree Trunks has a long history of being flighty and impulsive when it comes to love. However, Finn reminds Jake that they must be supportive of their friend's decision and help her in any way they can.
As Finn and Jake arrive at the wedding venue, they are greeted by a number of familiar faces. The Candy Kingdom has sent over several representatives, including Princess Bubblegum and Lady Rainicorn. The Ice Kingdom has also sent an emissary in the form of the Ice King, who is hoping to charm Tree Trunks into marrying him instead. However, Tree Trunks rebuffs his advances and declares her love for Mr. Pig.
The wedding itself is a beautiful affair, with Tree Trunks looking radiant in her wedding dress and Mr. Pig decked out in his finest suit. Finn and Jake serve as the flower boys and walk down the aisle ahead of the bride and groom. As the ceremony begins, however, chaos ensues.
First, the Lumpy Space Princess, who is serving as the wedding officiant, becomes distracted by a vision of a handsome frog. She loses her focus and begins to babble nonsensically, much to the confusion of the other guests. Additionally, the Candy Kingdom representatives accidentally knock over a vase of flowers, causing a chain reaction of mishaps that results in a full-blown food fight.
Amidst the chaos, Tree Trunks becomes upset and runs off. Finn and Jake follow her and discover that she is having second thoughts about marrying Mr. Pig. She confides in them that she is worried about losing her sense of independence once she is married, and is afraid that she will become too reliant on her husband. Finn and Jake remind Tree Trunks that love requires compromise, and that she should not be afraid to lean on Mr. Pig when she needs him.
With their encouragement, Tree Trunks gains the courage to return to the wedding and say her vows. The ceremony resumes and proceeds smoothly, with Mr. Pig and Tree Trunks declaring their love for one another and sealing their bond with a kiss. The guests cheer and toss apple confetti, and all is right in the world once again.
Overall, "Apple Wedding" is a heartwarming episode that showcases the power of love and the importance of supporting those we care about. Through its whimsical characters and delightful storyline, Adventure Time once again delivers a memorable and touching viewing experience.
