As they talk to Cindy, she tells them that the suspect was a man named Jack (played by Victor French), who she used to date. She also reveals that Jack has been in trouble with the law before and is currently on parole. Pete and Jim put out an APB for Jack's car and start to search for him.
Meanwhile, Jack is on the run and decides to pay a visit to his old partner in crime, Eddie (played by John Anderson). Jack tells Eddie about the robbery and asks for his help in getting out of town. Eddie agrees to help but warns Jack that the police will be looking for him.
As Pete and Jim continue their search, they receive a call that Jack's car has been spotted at a gas station. They rush to the scene and find the car abandoned. Using their police instincts, they follow a trail of footprints that leads them to a nearby apartment complex.
Inside the complex, they find Eddie and Jack hiding out in an empty apartment. The officers arrest the two men and bring them back to the station for questioning. With the help of Cindy, they are able to gather enough evidence to charge Jack with the robbery.
