Jim and Cheryl are pleased to learn that their youngest son, Gracie, has been assigned Mr. Pierson, a highly respected teacher, for her Sex Education class. However, when they arrive at the school, they learn that Mr. Pierson has been replaced by the school's bumbling janitor, Fred, who is woefully unqualified to teach the subject. Jim immediately sets out to get Mr. Pierson reinstated, but he quickly realizes that no one wants to listen to him. Meanwhile, Cheryl decides to take matters into her own hands and teach Gracie about sex herself.
As Cheryl struggles to find the right words to explain sex to her daughter, Jim continues to butt heads with Fred. Despite Jim's best efforts, Fred insists on showing the class a hilariously ridiculous video that is completely inaccurate and unhelpful. Jim is infuriated, and the two get into a physical altercation in front of the entire class. Later, Cheryl is embarrassed when she mistakenly gives Gracie the impression that sex is only meant for procreation, leaving Gracie with a lot of questions and confusion about the topic.
Determined to set things right, Jim and Cheryl team up to create an accurate and informative sex ed presentation that they hope will convince the school's administrators to reinstate Mr. Pierson. But when their presentation goes awry, Jim is forced to improvise, and in the end, his unconventional approach may be just what the school needs to embrace a more informative approach to sex education.
Overall, "Sex Ed Fred" is a hilarious and heartwarming episode that tackles the sensitive issue of sex education with sensitivity and humor. As always, the chemistry between the cast is flawless, with Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith delivering standout performances as the show's central couple. The episode is sure to leave viewers laughing and cheering, and it is a must-watch for fans of this beloved sitcom.
