Abyss is a thrilling and mysterious Korean series that is available on Netflix and premiered in May 2019. It stars Park Bo-young, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Lee Sung-jae in lead roles. The show revolves around the concept of reincarnation and supernatural events. The story of Abyss is about two best friends – a beautiful prosecutor named Go Se-yeon (played by Park Bo-young) and a handsome young man named Cha Min (played by Ahn Hyo-seop). Despite having extremely different personalities, they share a special bond of friendship that eventually turns into something more.

Tragedy strikes when Go Se-yeon gets murdered and Cha Min's life turns upside down. However, he gets a second chance at life when he is brought back to life via a mysterious artifact named "The Abyss". However, there's a twist – the artifact reincarnates him with a new body that is not his own. Cha Min is reborn in his new body, which is not only completely different from the one he had before but also not very attractive. He seems to lose everything, including his confidence and the love of his life.

As both of them are grappling with this strange twist of fate, they soon discover that the Abyss is not just a simple artifact. It has the power to bring people back to life, but also alters their appearance, depending on their karma.

Cha Min and Go Se-yeon unite to uncover the truth behind the Abyss and its supernatural powers. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they discover that the Abyss was created by a company called "Abyss" that manufactured it for its own selfish purposes. They also unlock the secret surrounding the death of Se-yeon, and the duo begins to use the Abyss to solve other homicide cases.

Each episode of Abyss presents a new challenge for Cha Min and Go Se-yeon as they try to solve these mysterious cases with the help of the Abyss. They use their intelligence and cunning to unravel the truth while also dealing with personal issues and their evolving relationship.

What sets Abyss apart from other Korean series is the intriguing concept of reincarnation and the presence of gruesome supernatural elements throughout the show. The series combines the elements of drama, romance, comedy, and mystery seamlessly to produce a captivating watching experience. The storyline is fast-paced, and as the audience, we are privy to the unfolding mysteries that intrigue and engage viewers throughout all sixteen episodes.

The performances are outstanding, with Park Bo-young doing a great job in portraying the strong and confident prosecutor who has been brought back to life with the help of the Abyss. Ahn Hyo-seop also does an excellent job in portraying the vulnerable and insecure Cha Min, who has to deal with the consequences of being reincarnated as a man he doesn't recognise. The supporting cast featuring the likes of Lee Sung-Jae also deserves commendation for their performances that add depth to the plot and the overarching storyline.

In conclusion, Abyss is an excellent Korean series that will leave you hooked from the very first episode. The plot twists and turns, and intriguing concept of reincarnation, make it a unique offering in the K-Drama space. The strong performances also add to the thrill and excitement of the show, making it an excellent choice to binge-watch.
