Ep 8. Eat Prey, Live

In Absurd Planet season 1 episode 8, titled Eat Prey, Live, we get a closer look at the unique and strange feeding habits of various animals in the natural world. We start off in Africa, where we witness lionesses working together to take down a giraffe - a difficult and potentially dangerous task. We learn about the incredible strength and coordination needed for a successful hunt, as well as the critical role each member of the pride plays.
Next, we travel to the depths of the Amazon rainforest to observe the remarkable ways in which different animals have adapted to their environment. We meet the leafcutter ant, which cuts and carries pieces of leaves that weigh more than themselves to their underground colonies. We also encounter the elusive jaguar, a skilled hunter that spends most of its time hidden in the dense foliage, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on its prey.
Moving on to the coast of South Africa, we catch a glimpse of the incredible feeding frenzy that occurs when great white sharks target a group of seals. The sharks use their powerful sense of smell to detect the seals, and then launch themselves out of the water in a display of incredible athleticism and power. We see how the seals work together to evade the sharks, with some even using a clever tactic known as "spy hopping" to keep an eye out for danger.
Our final stop takes us to the deserts of North America, where we observe the ingenious ways in which animals have adapted to thrive in an environment with little vegetation and few resources. We meet the roadrunner, a speedy bird that has evolved the ability to eat a variety of foods, including insects, reptiles, and even cactus fruit. We also encounter the chuckwalla, a lizard that stores water in its body and can go months without drinking.
Throughout the episode, we are treated to stunning visuals and fascinating facts about the animals featured. We learn about the importance of teamwork, strategy, and determination in the pursuit of food, as well as the amazing ways in which animals have evolved to survive in their respective habitats. Eat Prey, Live is a captivating and informative episode of Absurd Planet that is sure to leave viewers with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.
