It's the first episode of A Pup Named Scooby Doo, and we are introduced to a younger version of our beloved mystery-solving gang, namely Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and of course, Scooby Doo.
In this episode, the group is enjoying a carefree day in their neighborhood when they stumble upon a mysterious case. They hear about a legendary ghost who haunts the town, Boo Be Gone, and it's up to them to solve the mystery and catch the ghost.
As they begin their investigation, they realize that someone is playing pranks on them, and they start getting frustrated. But, they soon come across a clue that leads them to an abandoned bike factory, which they suspect could be Boo Be Gone's hideout.
They are quickly proven right, as they find themselves face-to-face with the ghost, but things take an unexpected turn when they discover that Boo Be Gone is in fact a robot, and it's being controlled by the factory's owner, Mr. Beeman.
Mr. Beeman explains that he created Boo Be Gone as part of a plan to scare everyone away from the factory so he could buy up the land cheaply and make a profit. The gang apprehends Mr. Beeman and the robot, and the town is safe once again.
This episode has all the classic elements of a Scooby Doo mystery – a spooky ghost, a hidden villain, and a twist ending. But, what makes A Pup Named Scooby Doo unique is the addition of younger versions of the characters we know and love. They are just as brave and clever as their older counterparts, but with an added sense of humor and innocence.
Overall, A Bicycle Built For Boo is a great introduction to the series, and a perfect example of why Scooby Doo has remained a beloved classic for generations.
