In 9-1-1: Lone Star season 1 episode 9, titled "Awakening," tensions run high as the 126 race to rescue victims trapped in a massive car pile-up caused by a sandstorm. Owen (Rob Lowe) takes the lead in the rescue, but quickly realizes that his own father is among the injured. Meanwhile, Judd (Jim Parrack) struggles to keep his emotions in check as he and his crew race to save a group of patients trapped in a hospital elevator.

As the team works tirelessly to save the victims, they are forced to confront their own personal demons. Grace (Sierra Aylina McClain) must deal with the aftermath of her father's arrest, and Paul (Brian Michael Smith) continues to struggle with his PTSD. T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) also faces a difficult decision when he discovers that his estranged father is among the injured.
