The hit series 4400 on The CW follows a group of individuals who mysteriously disappeared over the course of several decades and suddenly return without having aged a day. These 4400 unique individuals were taken from all walks of life, locations and time periods including the 1940s and 1970s. Despite their return, they soon discover that the world they left behind has drastically changed, and they now possess extraordinary abilities that they must learn to understand and control.

The show begins by introducing viewers to the various characters and their backstories. Among them are Brittany Adebumola's character of Kendra, a young woman who was abducted while attending a Halloween party in 2016. After her return, she discovers that she has telekinetic abilities that she struggles to control. Joseph David-Jones plays Rev, one of the 4400 who has the power to see glimpses of the future, a power that he initially sees as a burden. Finally, Ireon Roach plays the role of Dre, who was taken in 1994 when she was only a toddler. After returning, she realizes that she has the power to control minds and must navigate the dangerous consequences of her power.

The show also follows the government officials who are tasked with investigating the 4400's return and making sure that they pose no threat to society. This includes the ambitious and ruthless Director of National Intelligence, Isabelle Tyler (played by TL Thompson), who sees the 4400 as a means to solidify her own power within the government.

As the series progresses, the 4400 begin to uncover a sinister plot that involves the government and an organization known as "The Marked". This organization believes that the 4400 are destined to bring about the end of the world and will stop at nothing to ensure their destruction. The 4400 soon realize that they must work together to protect themselves and their loved ones from this new threat.

The core themes of 4400 are exploration of human nature and the consequences of power. The returning abductees are forced to confront the trauma of being taken and the impact it has on their families and loved ones. They must also come to terms with the fact that they are no longer "normal" and must learn to use their abilities responsibly. The show does an excellent job of portraying the different characters' struggles with their newfound powers and how it changes their relationships with the people around them.

The storyline is well-written and not predictable, keeping the audience on edge with each episode. The pacing of the show is perfect, with the right amount of action, drama, and suspense in each episode to keep viewers invested and wanting more. The show is also visually stunning, with impressive special effects that bring the characters' superhuman abilities to life.

Overall, 4400 is a must-see sci-fi series that explores the intricacies of human nature and the consequences of power. With its excellent acting, well-written storyline, and stunning visuals, it's a show that is sure to keep viewers hooked from the very first episode. Past is Prologue
1. Past is Prologue
October 25, 2021
Over the last century at least four thousand four hundred people who were overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized vanished without a trace off the face of the planet. Last night, inexplicably, they were all returned in an instant to Detroit having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government races to understand the phenomenon, analyze the potential threat, and contain the story, Jharrel, an empathetic social worker, and Keisha, a hardened community corrections officer, are among the civil servants called upon to deal with the uncanny refugees. The new partners clash in ideology and approach, but gradually find they have more in common than they thought as they become familiar with those under their care, including Shanice, a lawyer and resilient young mother from the early aughts, whose unexpected reunion with her estranged husband Logan and suddenly teenaged daughter Mariah is immediately rocky; Andre, a WWI Army surgeon fresh from the Harlem Renaissance; Claudette, an influential hidden figure from the Mississippi civil rights movement; Isaiah "Rev" Johnston, a black sheep reverend-scion born to a notable televangelist family in 1990s Chicago; LaDonna, a seemingly shallow but misunderstood D-list reality TV star from Miami, circa 2015; and two wildly different unaccompanied teens, Mildred, a vibrant girl, whose bell bottoms give away her 1970s upbringing, and Hayden, an introspective, prescient boy, whose origin remains a mystery. These unwilling time travelers, collectively the 4400, must grapple with their impossible new reality, the fact that they've been returned with a few... upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were brought back now for a reason they're only beginning to understand.
