In the Season 7 finale episode of 30 Rock titled "Florida," Liz Lemon travels to her hometown in Florida to settle her late father's estate, only to find that her family home has been infested by giant rats. Meanwhile, Jack Donaghy accompanies his mother on a trip to Florida to recover from a health scare, but he quickly finds himself at odds with her new boyfriend and his scheming father.
At the Florida home, Liz reconnects with her mother and attempts to come to terms with her complicated relationship with her father, who she learns had a secret past. She also tries to deal with the rat infestation with the help of her brother and his eccentric girlfriend, and reflects on her own past growing up in Florida.
Meanwhile, Jack struggles with his own family issues as he butts heads with his mother's new boyfriend, who he believes is using her for financial gain. He also confronts his own father, who has been manipulating him behind the scenes to further his own business interests.
As Liz and Jack navigate their family issues in Florida, the rest of the TGS crew deal with their own professional and personal problems back in New York. Jenna Maroney attempts to revive her career with a viral internet video, Tracy Jordan deals with the aftermath of a controversial tweet, and Kenneth Parcell searches for a new job after the cancellation of TGS.
In the end, Liz and Jack both come to important realizations about their past and present, and make important decisions about their future. The episode concludes with a touching tribute to the show's many beloved characters and the end of an era for TGS.
"Florida" is a fitting and emotional finale to the long-running series, combining humor, heart, and nostalgia to give fans a satisfying conclusion to the story of Liz, Jack, and the TGS crew.
