In Day 7: 2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M., the 19th episode of the seventh season of 24, the tension reaches a boiling point as the race to stop the terrorist threat accelerates.
The episode opens with FBI Agent Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) being interrogated by a Senate Committee investigating the events of the day. The committee chairman accuses Renee of using tactics that were "too aggressive" in trying to capture the terrorists. He hints that she may be complicit in some of the acts of violence that have taken place throughout the day. Renee is clearly rattled by this accusation and the implications it holds.
Meanwhile, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) are racing against time to track down the terrorists before they can launch their attack. They receive a tip from a former CTU informant that leads them to a storage facility in the city. They find evidence that the terrorists have stored a large amount of explosive material in the facility, but are interrupted by a group of heavily armed men who have been sent to guard the stored material. A fierce gun battle ensues, with Jack and Tony fighting for their lives against a group of highly-trained soldiers.
Back at the FBI headquarters, Special Agent in Charge Larry Moss (Jeffrey Nordling) is struggling to convince the White House to take the terrorist threat seriously. President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones) is understandably hesitant to launch a military strike against the terrorists without clear evidence, but Larry warns her that time is running out and they may not have the luxury of waiting for conclusive proof.
As the hour progresses, tensions rise and the stakes get higher. The clock is ticking and it seems as though every second counts. The episode culminates in a shocking twist that leaves the fate of several characters in doubt and sets up a thrilling finale to the season.
Overall, Day 7: 2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M. is a masterclass in suspenseful storytelling. The episode builds tension with every passing minute, expertly weaving together multiple storylines and keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. The strong performances from the cast, particularly Kiefer Sutherland and Annie Wersching, add an extra layer of intensity to the proceedings. Fans of the show will not be disappointed by this gripping installment, which sets the stage for an explosive finale to the season.
