In Day 5: 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M, the tenth episode of the fifth season of 24, the tension between the administration and CTU continues to mount. Audrey Raines and Chloe O'Brian are waiting in the Situation Room when CTU Director Bill Buchanan arrives. He informs them of the President's decision - to remove CTU's license and autonomy. She takes matters into her own hands and drives a CTU van to the location, hoping to take out the sniper herself. The plan goes awry, and Chloe is captured by the terrorists.

The episode ends with Jack finally obtaining the damning recording, but he is cornered by Walt Cummings and a team of heavily armed security guards. As they close in on him, Jack has to make a bold and dangerous decision to ensure that the recording falls into the right hands.
