Day 4: 12:00 Midnight-1:00 A.M. is the eighteenth episode of the fourth season of the popular American television series 24. The episode aired on April 4th, 2005, and was directed by Jon Cassar.
The episode picks up right where the previous one ended, with CTU agent Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) desperately trying to find the nuclear warhead that has been stolen by terrorist mastermind Habib Marwan (Arnold Vosloo). Marwan has threatened to detonate the bomb in Los Angeles in less than an hour, and time is running out for both Bauer and his team at CTU.
As the clock ticks down, Bauer and his fellow agent Curtis Manning (Roger Cross) follow a lead that takes them to an abandoned warehouse in downtown LA. However, their search is complicated by the arrival of a group of armed men who are also after the nuclear device. A fierce gun battle ensues, and Bauer and Manning must fight for their lives.
Meanwhile, President John Keeler (Geoff Pierson) is still dealing with the aftermath of the previous hour's events. He has been badly injured in a car accident caused by Marwan, and is now rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Vice President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin) takes over as acting president, but his leadership is called into question by his top advisor, Mike Novick (Jude Ciccolella).
Back at CTU, Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) discovers a disturbing new development in the case: Marwan has had access to the US government's classified satellite information, allowing him to evade detection and plan his attacks without being detected. With time running out, Chloe must find a way to use this information to track down Marwan before it's too late.
As the hour draws to a close, Bauer and Manning finally locate the stolen warhead, but are confronted by Marwan himself. In a tense showdown, Bauer must make a difficult decision that could have devastating consequences.
Day 4: 12:00 Midnight-1:00 A.M. is a gripping, action-packed episode that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. With its high stakes, complex characters, and fast-paced storytelling, it's a prime example of why 24 remains one of the most popular and acclaimed television series of all time.
