In this episode of 24 Hours In A&E, viewers are introduced to a number of patients who have been admitted to the Accident and Emergency department of St. George's Hospital in London. Over the course of the episode, the audience is given a glimpse into the lives of these patients and the medical professionals who work tirelessly to provide them with the care they need.

The first patient viewers meet is 56-year-old Andrew, who has been brought in after experiencing chest pain. Despite initially feeling fine, Andrew's symptoms have worsened and the team in A&E quickly get to work trying to determine what the problem is. As Andrew undergoes a series of tests to rule out any major issues, viewers are given a chance to see how the hospital's staff respond to a patient in distress.

Next up is 13-year-old Owen, who has been brought in by his mother after he suffered a seizure at home. Unsure of what caused the seizure, the medical team immediately begin to investigate and watch over Owen closely to ensure he doesn't suffer another one. As viewers follow his progress, they witness the hard work and dedication of the staff as they help him through a difficult time.

The episode then turns its attention to 82-year-old Betty, who has been admitted after falling down some stairs. With a badly bruised cheek, Betty is understandably shaken up but soon begins to form a bond with the medical team looking after her. Despite her age, Betty retains her sense of humour throughout her stay and viewers will undoubtedly be touched by her positive attitude.

Claire is the next patient to be introduced, a 45-year-old who has come in after having a severe asthma attack. The team immediately begin to treat her, working tirelessly to help her breathe easier. As Claire starts to recover, the focus shifts to her husband who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his wife's condition could be life-threatening.

The final patient to be featured in this episode is 38-year-old Christopher, who has been brought in after being hit by a car. As the team work to assess his injuries, the cameras capture the tension and stress of the situation. But despite their initial concerns, Christopher is soon stabilised and the team are able to work out an effective course of treatment.

Throughout the episode, viewers are given an intimate look into the lives of both the patients and the medical staff at St. George's Hospital. By the end of the hour, viewers will have seen firsthand the dedication and care that goes into treating patients in emergency situations. 24 Hours In A&E is a gripping and emotional series that offers a unique insight into the world of emergency medicine.
