In season 10, episode 3 of the gripping medical documentary series 24 Hours In A&E, titled Never say Die, viewers follow the intense and moving stories of patients as they arrive at the accident and emergency department of King’s College Hospital in London.

The episode begins with a man, Tony, who is rushed in with a dislocated shoulder after falling down the stairs at a train station. Despite the excruciating pain, Tony manages to keep his sense of humor and remains a charming and likable patient throughout his treatment. We see the doctors and nurses expertly manipulate his shoulder back into place, and Tony is grateful to be discharged after a few hours of observation.

Next, we are introduced to a young boy, Kofi, who has been brought in by his mother after he stops breathing due to an asthma attack. The medical team springs into action, using an oxygen mask and adrenaline to stabilize the boy’s condition. Kofi’s mother is understandably distraught, and her anguish is palpable as she waits for news on her son. Eventually, Kofi’s condition improves, and he is able to breathe on his own again. The relieved mother and son are discharged the following day, along with a new inhaler prescription.

Another patient, Kerri, is rushed in by ambulance after collapsing at home. She has a history of autoimmune disease, and the team suspects that she is experiencing a flare-up. Kerri is in considerable pain and is having trouble breathing, so she is given oxygen and pain medication while the doctors and nurses work to determine the cause of her symptoms. As they conduct tests and monitor her condition, we get to see the compassionate and patient communication between the medical team and Kerri, who is understandably scared and vulnerable.

One of the standout patients in this episode is an elderly gentleman named Roy. He has been brought in by his wife after experiencing chest pains and difficulty breathing. The medical team is concerned that Roy may be having a heart attack, so they quickly move him to the resuscitation room, where they work to stabilize his condition. Throughout the episode, we follow Roy’s journey as the team administers life-saving treatment, determines the cause of his symptoms, and eventually sends him home to recover with his wife by his side.

Finally, there is Brenda, a woman who has been brought in after a fall in her garden. She is in considerable pain and is having trouble moving her arm and shoulder. The medical team conducts X-rays and determines that she has dislocated her shoulder. We see the team expertly administer pain relief and manipulate her shoulder back into place, much to Brenda’s relief. As she is discharged from the hospital, we see her expressing gratitude towards the medical team that cared for her.

Overall, season 10, episode 3 of 24 Hours In A&E, titled Never say Die, is an emotional and intense journey into the lives of patients who have found themselves in need of urgent medical care.
