Under the Influence is the seventeenth episode of the fifth season of the hit TV show 21 Jump Street. The episode follows officers Tom Hanson (played by Johnny Depp), Doug Penhall (played by Peter DeLuise), Dennis Booker (played by Richard Grieco), and Judy Hoffs (played by Holly Robinson Peete) as they work together to investigate a high school student who is suspected of dealing drugs on campus.
As the episode opens, the Jump Street team receives a tip from a concerned parent that there is a large amount of drug activity happening at their son's high school. The team immediately sets up a stakeout to monitor the school and identify any potential suspects. It's not long before they begin to receive reports of a new substance being sold around the school - a powerful hallucinogenic drug that is causing students to act out in strange and dangerous ways.
As they dig deeper, the team discovers that the drug is being sold by a popular student who is using his charm and status to manipulate others into buying from him. But when the team attempts to apprehend him, they find that he is surprisingly evasive and elusive - always managing to stay just out of their reach.
Meanwhile, tensions between the officers themselves are beginning to rise. Booker and Hanson find themselves in a heated argument over their differing approaches to the case, while Penhall and Hoffs struggle with an internal conflict of their own - realizing that they have feelings for each other that they have been hesitant to act on.
As the case continues, some of the team members begin to go undercover in an attempt to blend in with the student body and gather more information. But as they get closer to the truth, they begin to realize just how dangerous the situation has become. The drug is causing serious harm to those who use it, and the student behind it is more cunning and manipulative than they ever could have imagined.
The team must come together and use all of their skills to take down the drug dealer and prevent any more harm from being done. But as they do, they must also address their own personal demons and work to overcome the challenges that threaten to tear them apart.
Overall, Under the Influence is an intense and suspenseful episode that explores both the dangers of drug use and the complexities of human relationships. It's a must-see for fans of the series, and a great addition to an already impressive season.
