Max and Caroline are back with their misadventures in the world of baking and business. Season 6 episode 2 of 2 Broke Girls is called "And the 80's Movie," and the episode promises to take us down memory lane with some classic 80s movie references and nods.
The episode starts with Max and Caroline working on a new cake recipe, but their creativity is stifled, so they decide to watch an 80s movie to get some inspiration. As they watch the classic movie "The Breakfast Club," they discuss which character they relate to the most. Max claims she's like the rebel Allison, while Caroline thinks she's more of a Molly Ringwald.
Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of a potential customer, Landon, a man who works for a production company. Landon wants to order a giant cake for an upcoming movie premiere, but he also wants Max and Caroline to audition for a role in the movie. The girls are excited, but soon realize the role they're auditioning for is that of extras in the background.
Disappointed but not willing to give up, Max and Caroline head to the movie premiere to promote their cake business. They pull out all the stops, dressing up like characters from the 80s movies they love so much. They stand out from the crowd, but not in a good way. No one is interested in buying their cakes, and they're bummed out.
Just when they're about to call it a night, something unexpected happens. They end up getting into the exclusive after-party for the movie premiere, and they're thrilled to be able to bask in the glow of Hollywood celebrities. But they soon find out that the party is lacking something crucial: cake.
Max and Caroline see an opening and decide to seize the opportunity, pitching their cakes to the partygoers. They finally get some customers, but one of them turns out to be a little too demanding. He tells them he wants a cake in the shape of a unicorn, and he wants it now.
Max and Caroline decide to take on the challenge, but they quickly realize that they don't have the necessary equipment to make the cake. That's when Sophie comes to the rescue, offering to help them with her industrial-grade oven. The three of them work together to make the unicorn cake a reality, and they succeed.
The episode ends with Max and Caroline delivering the unicorn cake to the demanding customer, who turns out to be a movie producer. The producer is so impressed with the cake that he offers to hire the girls to make a giant cake for another movie premiere. Max and Caroline are thrilled and relieved to have landed another job, and they look forward to seeing where their cake business will take them next.
"And the 80's Movie" is a delightful episode filled with nostalgia, humor, and heart. It's a reminder of how much we all love those classic 80s movies and how they continue to inspire us today. It also showcases the strength of Max and Caroline's friendship and their unwavering determination to succeed in the often-challenging world of business. If you're a fan of 2 Broke Girls, you won't want to miss this episode!
