Max and Caroline are back with their latest adventure in 2 Broke Girls season 1 episode 9, entitled "And The Really Petty Cash." To make matters worse, they soon discover that they've been caught on camera stealing from the diner. On the verge of being fired, Max and Caroline come up with one final plan to hold onto their jobs - they'll pretend to have a falling out and get into a staged argument in front of the diner's owner.
Despite some initial reluctance, Max and Caroline's plan ultimately works, and they are able to keep their jobs at the diner. As the episode ends, they decide to put their new-found wealth to good use by investing it into their cupcake business.
