Ep 19. Diamond Dogs / Ride Along
- August 17, 2019
Diamond Dogs / Ride Along is the 19th episode of the first season of 101 Dalmatian Street, an animated television series. In Diamond Dogs, the Dalmatian family comes across an old map that leads to a diamond mine. The parents, Doug and Delilah, caution their puppies, Dylan and Dolly, not to get their hopes up too high, as the map could be a fake. However, a group of well-dressed dogs overhear their conversation and become intensely interested in the map.
The group of snobbish dogs call themselves the "Diamond Dogs" and ask to buy the map from the Dalmatians. Dylan and Dolly are wary of their intentions and refuse to sell it to them. The Diamond Dogs are not used to being told "no" and decide to try and trick the Dalmatians into handing over the map. They stage elaborate distractions, sneak into their house, and even dress up as a group of puppies to try and gain their trust.
Meanwhile, Dylan and Dolly become increasingly obsessed with trying to figure out the mystery of the diamond mine. They use their intelligence and teamwork to figure out clues and search for the mine. However, they become so focused on their task that they begin to neglect their daily responsibilities, such as walking their younger siblings, taking care of the chickens, and keeping the house clean.
In the second half of the episode, Ride Along, Dylan and Dolly get a taste of real-life police work when they go on a ride-along with their father, Doug, who is a firefighter. They are thrilled to be able to sit in the back of his van and watch him in action. However, their idealized vision of the job is quickly shattered when they realize it's not as exciting as they thought it would be.
Their first call is to help rescue a cat from a tree, which is not nearly as dangerous as they were hoping for. They quickly become bored and start to distract their father by pointing out things that don't require his attention. When they finally get a call to put out a fire, they are initially excited, but quickly realize how dangerous it can be. They are impressed with their father's bravery and begin to appreciate how hard he works to keep the community safe.
Overall, Diamond Dogs / Ride Along is a fun and educational episode that teaches viewers about the importance of responsibility and appreciating the hard work of those who keep us safe. It also highlights the importance of not letting greed take over and trusting your instincts when dealing with strangers. It's a great addition to the 101 Dalmatian Street series and is sure to be enjoyed by fans of all ages.
