CJ, Fenwick, and Crispo decide to start their own garage band in the second episode of 100 Things To Do Before High School. The trio is excited to take on this new challenge together, but they quickly realize that starting a band is harder than they thought. From finding the right instruments to choosing the perfect name, they have a lot of work to do.
CJ is determined to be the lead singer of the band, but she's not sure what kind of music they should play. Fenwick suggests they play classic rock, but Crispo wants to try something different. As they debate the merits of different genres, they start to realize that blending their different musical tastes might be the key to creating something truly unique.
Next, they set out to find the right instruments. Fenwick is an excellent guitarist, so he's all set in that department, but CJ and Crispo still need to find what they're best suited for. They spend a lot of time trying out different instruments at a music store, but nothing seems to click. That is until they all start fooling around with a set of drums. They quickly discover that Crispo has a natural talent for drumming, and they decide that he'll be the drummer for their band.
With their line-up set, the trio starts practicing in Fenwick's garage. They're not very good at first, but they're having fun and learning together. However, they soon realize that they need a bass player to round out their sound. They put up a flyer at school, and their classmate Mindy responds. Mindy is shy, but she's a natural bass player. They all agree that she's perfect for the band.
As they practice more, they start to develop a unique sound that blends all of their different musical styles. They can't wait to perform for their classmates at the school talent show. However, their plans hit a snag when they discover that the only time slot available is during the same time as the school's annual Prank Day. CJ, Fenwick, and Crispo love Prank Day and don't want to miss out, but they also don't want to miss their chance to perform.
They decide to combine the two events and create a prank-themed performance. They come up with a plan to prank the school's principal during their performance and enlist Mindy's help to pull it off. The day of the performance arrives, and the band is nervous but excited. They take the stage, and their prank goes off without a hitch. The audience loves it, and they get a standing ovation.
In the end, CJ, Fenwick, Crispo, and Mindy succeed at starting a garage band and achieve their goal of performing at the talent show. They all agree that it was the most fun they've ever had and can't wait to see where their band goes next.
