Stu and Zelda go shopping for Andrew, but he is "gift-blocking" her and grabbing up all the best stuff for Andrew. Stu, who is mistaken for Santa by multiple children, finally inspires Zelda to open up to him, and she admits that she doesn't want to do Christmas with Andrew, but the whole situation happened while they were caught up in a moment.
Shopping with Stephie, Andrew admits the same thing.
Zelda learns this later by reading a text to Stephie from Andrew, while Stu just blurts it out to Andrew. Instead of discussing their feelings on the matter, Zelda and Andrew overcompensate by pretending to be even more excited about Christmas together. It culminates in a fight, and they call off their holiday plans.
Both are relieved they can go home, but things stay tense. At the airport, they say a terse goodbye that doesn't seem to be quite what they need. They part ways, and then return to each other to say "I love you."
