Zooey Deschanel Spills About Upcoming 'New Girl'

Zooey Deschanel, the quirky (can’t get enough of that word) and adorable star of “New Girl” has shared with E! a few interesting tidbits about the upcoming fall season of the rompy FOX comedy.

“Who’s that model? It’s Jess! That’s right, Jess has to tag along with Cece to a car show to model and showoff the cars. As you expect, Jess doesn't quite cut it as a model, and not only does she piss off the guy in charge, she pisses off the other models. Cat fight! We have a feeling Schmidt will be around for that.”

Interesssting. Jess as a model? We suspect that will both be hilarious and adorable (Zooey’s M.O.), and probably involve some sliding around awkwardly on newly-waxed car hoods in addition to fighting other attractive, slim ladies, so, fun for the whole family!

And, regarding the building sexual tension between Jess and Nick (played by the amazing Jake Johnson), we are told “never fear,” and that the relationship between the two roommates will be advancing.

"The writers are going to address it this year, so whatever it is, it's going to take a step forward," Johnson teases.

Ooh, steamy. Interest: piqued. Nothing draws out a show like a good build-up between characters, but if Jess and Nick happen to share, oh, say an intimate moment at like, the car show, few audience members would mind.

Other than some tension-fueled butt slapping a few tender friend-zoned moments, we’ve had little romantic development between these two crazy kids who are so obviously meant to sleep together, regret it, and then fall in love.

So let’s hope that Deschanel and Johnson aren’t just teasing us in a different fashion, and that the upcoming season gives us some “awws” along with our laughs.
