You Can Stream 'Transparent' For Free This Saturday (and This Saturday Only!)
by Andy Neuenschwander
At $99 a year, a subscription to Amazon Prime might seem too daunting for some to spring for. But with the company creating new, original, critically lauded content, you might end up with some TV FOMO.
Lucky for you, Amazon is offering the entire series of "Transparent" to stream for free this Saturday, January 24, even if you're not an Amazon Prime subscriber.
The show, which is exclusive to Amazon Prime, features "Arrested Development" star Jeffrey Tambor as a father of three who, in his later years, decides to come out to his kids as transgender. The series focuses not only on Tambor's character, who now goes as Maura, in her new life as a woman, but also on the reactions of her family as they adjust their life-long perception of their father.
"Transparent" won two Golden Globe awards earlier this month: one for Tambor for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, and one for the show itself for Best Television Program - Comedy or Musical. The free offering this weekend is in celebration of the wins.
So if you're looking for something to binge-watch on Saturday just load up Amazon Prime, blitz through the 10 half-hour episodes, and learn what everyone's talking about when they say "Moppa."
