You Can Now Watch the First 10 Minutes of the '12 Monkeys' TV Show
by Andy Neuenschwander
If you're one of the people looking forward to watching the new TV adaptation of the modern sci-fi classic "12 Monkeys," you're in luck!
Syfy has made the first 9 or so minutes of the show's premiere episode available online, so you can watch it now for free and test out the waters a bit.
The show seems to follow roughly the same premise as the movie: a time traveler from the future appears in the present day, tasked with a mission to stop a deadly outbreak that causes his post-apocalyptic reality.
This time around, the lead role will be played by "Nikita" alum Aaron Stanford, with "Suits" star Amanda Schull co-starring.
The series marks part of Syfy's attempted return to serious, meaty sci-fi programming, as the network tries to step away from self-aware B-movies like "Sharknado." The network has a big slate of other original shows on the docket, including zombie epic "Z Nation," which will attempt to either play off of or compete against "The Walking Dead."
"12 Monkeys" will premiere in full on Friday, Jan. 16 at 9pm on Syfy. Check out the first 9 minutes below:
