You Can Now Watch the Creepy, NSFW-ish Opening Credits for 'American Horror Story: Freak Show'
by Andy NeuenschwanderIt's still going to be one full week before the premiere of the new "American Horror Story" season. We know, it's tough. October has already started, Halloween is just around the corner, and you need your horror fix.
But you can check out the opening credits right now!
The "Freak Show" title sequence features the familiar "American Horror Story" theme song, but with an extra music-box-like flair to it that fits in nicely with the carnival theme of the season.
It also works well with the visual style of the title sequence, which incorporates some good old-fashioned stop motion (or CGI made to look like stop motion) to a creepy effect.
There are, of course, plenty of scary clowns (likely to be a staple of this season), but there's plenty of other disturbing imagery as well...and a lot of it is pretty phallic. We've never felt so dirty about balloon animals before.
We can't even begin to decipher the many hints about the season that were likely dropped into these titles, so check them out for yourself and see if you can figure it all out.
