You Can Get 'Breaking Bad' Action Figures at Toys R Us Now
by Andy NeuenschwanderToys "R" Us is in a bit of trouble with Florida moms...and maybe Hank Schraeder too.
The toy store chain has begun selling "Breaking Bad" action figures, including a figure of Walter White as Heisenberg with an accompanying bag of meth, and a figure of Jesse Pinkman in a yellow hazmat suit.
While fans of the hit AMC show are mostly excited about the new toy line, parents who bring young children to Toys "R" Us are less than enthused.
"Anything to do with drugs is not doing the right thing," said Florida mom Susan Schrivjer in an interview with the Today show. "I just think that they need to look at their visions and values, as they call them."
Schrivjer and others have started a petition in order to have the "Breaking Bad" action figures taken off of Toys "R" Us shelves. However, Bryan Cranston himself weighed in on the issue, and he stands behind his show and his miniature plastic self.
"'Florida mom petitions against Toys 'R Us over Breaking Bad action figures.' I'm so mad, I'm burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest," he tweeted.
Toys "R" Us has been quick to respond to the uproar, but it doesn't look like they're taking away the action figures anytime soon. The company noted that the packaging for the toys clearly states that they are for ages 15 and up, and that the toys are kept exclusively in the section of the store for adult toys.
