Yep, He Went There: Dane Cook Makes 'Dark Knight Rises' Shooting Joke
by Sean ComerHere's a fun fact, kids: know which comedian shared a bill at The Laugh Factory with Daniel Tosh when Tosh made that ill-advised "rape" joke recently? Dane Cook.
Not one to be outdone, Cook has proven what his act has been making abundantly apparent for years: he actually has never understood what "funny" means.
If he did, he might not have mined the July 20 shooting in Aurora, Colo., duing a midnight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" for material. Apparently, 12 people dead and another 58 injured looked like a golden opportunity.
During Cook's set Thursday at the Los Angeles comedy club, according to The Daily Caller, Cook remarked, "So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie. And I don't know if you've seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap. Yea, spoiler alert. I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like 'Ugh, f**king shoot me.'"
Hm. This, from the star of "Employee Of The Month." According to reports, there were scattered laughs but plenty of groans.
Hey, judge for yourself. We've got video. Between this turd and Tosh, who wants to bet The Laugh Factory soon gets a little more selective with booking?
