Who Ya Gonna Cut? 'Ghostbusters' Firehouse in Danger of Closing

And it don't look good,
Who ya gonna cut?
The firehouse that they used in "Ghostbusters!"

It's a sad day for fans of historical landmarks and fictional landmarks alike, as the firehouse that was used as the headquarters in the 1980's classic "Ghostbusters" is in danger of being shut down.

New York City Mayor Bloomberg is planning a series of budget cuts for the city, and that includes shutting down 20 firehouses across the Big Apple. One of those 20 is the station that Ladder 8 calls home, that for a short while housed the Ghostbusters while the comedy was being shot.

It's easy to see this move as a big downer: after all, a firehouse closing isn't great news, as it not only puts firefighters out of a job but could also put New York residents at a higher risk.

But consider this: in the movie, the Ghostbusters moved in to the firehouse after it had been closed down. So if your lifelong dream has been to start your own ghostbusting business inside the very same firehouse that Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, and the rest of the gang used, now is your chance!

I'm not saying that's my lifelong dream per se, but...oh, who am I kidding. It totally is. I'm getting my proton pack and moving to New York!
