Will the 'X-Men' Sequel Interfere with 'The Hunger Games' Sequel?

There could be trouble on the horizon for "The Hunger Games," and it might be a bunch of mutants behind the whole mess.

The problem is that everybody loves Jennifer Lawrence so darned much. The actress starred in "X-Men: First Class" before she was cast in "The Hunger Games," but now both franchises are moving ahead with sequels... and they're getting in each others' way.

Fox wanted to shoot the "X-Men" sequel this fall, but Lionsgate planned to shoot the "Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire," at the same time. Obviously, with Lawrence playing a large part in both movies (Mystique has a much-expanded role in this prequel than in previous "X-Men" movies), that can't happen.

For now, it seems that the two studios have reached a resolution: Fox will move its shooting date back to January, allowing Lawrence to work on "Catching Fire" this fall. However, both movies will take a bit of a hit for the compromise: "X-Men" will be obviously be delayed by a few months, and "Catching Fire" may not have Lawrence available if schedules change or re-shoots are needed. Lionsgate hoped to have their actors available for an exceptionally long seven-month hold for shooting.

There's also the question of Lawrence, who will be going through the grueling process of another "Hunger Games" movie (the first required a number of action scenes shot in North Carolina in 100-degree weather) and then continuing on to shoot another action movie directly after.

So, if either "Catching Fire" or the "X-Men: First Class" sequel turn out to be sub-par, fans can blame the other movie for it. Let the finger-pointing commence!
