'X Factor' Expansion Pushes 'New Girl' to November (Booo!)

'X Factor' Expansion Pushes 'New Girl' to November (Booo!) As this year's breakout hit, "New Girl" quickly jumped out ahead of Fox's Tuesday frontrunner "Glee" to become the network's highest-rated show of the night. But thanks to a cascading series of reschedules, we won't be seeing a new episode of Fox's best new show until November.

Tragic, right? If you're upset, you can blame it on "The X Factor." The new vocal competition series was set to air for an hour and a half on Tuesday, October 25th at a special day and time, but was expanded to a full two hours. The reason being, we can assume, that the show didn't quite get the numbers that Simon Cowell was expecting, and it's getting an extra push.

Of course, you could also blame those darned sports: Fox will be airing the MLB Playoffs and the World Series over the next few weeks, putting a number of Fox shows out of their usual time slots. That also means that "Glee" will be gone until November 1st.

And the next episode of "New Girl" that was supposed to air is called "Naked." Doesn't that sound like more fun than another half hour of "The X Factor?"
