Wrestling/Reality TV Star Chyna Dies at 46

Billed during her tenure with the WWF as "The 9th Wonder of the World," Chyna, whose real name was Joanie Laurer, also found fame on various reality TV series. Laurer was found dead Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. No cause of death has been determined at this point, but authorities say that there is no sign of foul play.

Laurer joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1997 and gained popularity in the wrestling world for her muscular physique and her ability to push the boundaries of gender stereotypes as she went into the ring with both male and female opponents. She left the WWF in 2001 after a high-profile disagreement with WWF executive Stephanie McMahon, and the organization, for a time, prevented her from using the name Chyna, claiming that it was the property of the WWF.

Laurer tried her hand at acting after leaving wrestling. She appeared in 3rd Rock from the Sun, and she also appeared in a number of adult films. Laurer also was featured in reality series including Fear Factor, Celebrity Rehab and The Surreal Life.

Laurer had well-publicized struggles with addiction, and TMZ is reporting that authorities are investigating her death as a possible drug overdose.
