Why Did the 'American Idol' Judges Save Casey Abrams?

Why Did the 'American Idol' Judges Save Casey Abrams? After being rescued from the bottom two, Casey Abrams will have one more chance to win over voters on "American Idol."

Clearly, he’s got the judges in his court, as Jennifer Lopez told Ryan Seacrest during his KIIS-FM radio show.

"[Casey] is one of our most dynamic performers. He's so interesting and so talented," Lopez told Seacrest. "I know it's crazy, but we had to do it!"

Critics consider the move “polarizing” and “radical” but Lopez believes in her choice.

"We knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season, but to be quite honest...that is one decision that I haven't lost one once of sleep over," she said.

Now Abrams intends to live up to the honor, which he could hardly believe was happening.

His Twitter promises some type of game change.

“Alright friends, tonight is the night I go bold. Remember to vote as many times as possible :) If you do I WILL give you a hug,” he tweeted Wednesday.

Not so fast. Abrams may have his hugging arms full. According to In Touch, Abrams and fellow Idol contestant Haley Reinhart have been showing signs of what could be a romance in the making.

While it’s not official, Reinhart did appear emotional when Abrams was close to elimination.

What do you think?

Did Abrams deserve another chance – or could this just be a tactic by the judges to heat things up in the game early on?
