Bieber's Bad Week: Arrests, Allegations, Searches, Deportation

It was a bad week to be Justin Bieber. By the end of it, he'd been arrested twice, was in jeopardy of being arrested a third time, had his private plane searched and was in danger of being deported from the United States. According to all accounts, though, he continues to be the unfazed Biebs through it all.

On Wednesday, Bieber was arrested in Toronto and charged with assault in reference to an incident a month ago, when he allegedly struck a limousine driver.

Also on Wednesday, police in Florida released documents claiming that Bieber was under the influence of marijuana, alcohol and Xanax when he was arrested for allegedly drag racing there last week.

On Friday, on his way back to the US from Toronto, Bieber and his plane were detained when they landed in New Jersey, apparently in a cloud of something that smelled like marijuana. US Customs and Border Protection agents searched the plane but reportedly found nothing illegal; after an interview that lasted several hours, Bieber was allowed to go on his way.

Also on Friday, White House spokesperson Jay Carney responded to a petition calling for Bieber's deportation. The petition, which gained more than 100,000 signatures on whitehouse.gov will trigger an automatic response from the White House, as does any petition that breaks the 100,000-signature threshold. Carney said the White House will respond "relatively soon."

And finally, prosecutors in California are likely to decide by next week whether to charge Bieber with felony vandalism over accusations that he threw eggs at his neighbor's house.
