"Glee" star Darren Criss was just a “singer/guitarist” when he appeared on the reality dating show “Blind Date.”

Criss was 21 at the time, and the show noted he loves girls with a sense of humor and is turned off by bad dancers.

From "Blind Date" to his big role as Blaine, Criss grew up in San Francisco, California. He later made name for himself by starting StarKids Production with his peers at the University of Michigan. The group produced Harry Potter spoofs and Criss, who has released his own self-produced album, co-wrote songs for the group.

Before making his "Glee" debut in the Season 2 episode “Never Been Kissed,” Criss had originally audition for the part of Finn.

If you asked him, he'd probably agree it was worth the wait.

It sure looks like he's come a long way since hollering at Hogwarts as Harry Potter.
