“The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. Leonard and Penny host a cocktail party of grown-ups. And a letter written to (the teenaged) Howard by his father, who had deserted his family years ago, is discovered hidden away in a closet. Leonard debates reading it.

“The Vampire Diaries” on The CW. Elena returns to high school and joins the cheerleading squad. However, when she throws a party out of boredom, a nasty fight ensues. Klaus attempts to use Hayley in order to get some information, and Damon gives Rebekah some advice.

9:00 PM EST:

“Beauty and the Beast” on The CW. Cat threatens a witness in order to protect Vincent.

“Glee” on Fox. Will and Finn deal with the post-kiss tension. In New York, Santana thinks something is off about Brody’s side job.

“Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC. Multiple transplant surgeries are scheduled at the same time. The new management team creates havoc, causing one doctor to question if he still belongs.

“Person of Interest” on CBS. Reese and Finch pay a visit to an elderly gambler in Atlantic City. Meanwhile, Carter tries to clear a colleague’s name.

10:00 PM EST:

“Elementary” on CBS. Joan works on her first solo case, featuring a missing wife who left behind a video mentioning a murder on a subway platform. While Joan looks for the missing woman, Sherlock investigates the murder.

10:30 PM EST:

“Legit” on FX. Jim tries to sneak a celebrity out of his house which is surrounded by paparazzi.
