Welcome Back To Daytime: Sarah Michelle Gellar Returns To 'All My Children'

Welcome Back To Daytime: Sarah Michelle Gellar Returns To 'All My Children' Familiar faces keep showing up in familiar places, and it's giving "All My Children" a memorable send-off into TV history.

Several alumni who went on to bigger and better things after their respective tenures on the show have been coming out of the woodwork, reprising their old roles and bringing ABC's soap-opera institution around full-circle.

The latest to give the show's final season a sense of history and closure has spent the last decade-plus making vampires and demons wet themselves, while fleeing meowing Japanese ghosts in terror.

Sarah Michelle Gellar will be back during the series' final episodes reprising her role as Kendall Hart, daughter to Erica Kane (Susan Lucci.)

Gellar played Hart from 1993-1995, not long before she was cast as the titular "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" on The WB in 1997. For her role as the product of Kane's rape at age 14 by actor Richard Shields (James A. Stephens), Gellar collected a 1995 Daytime Emmy Award for Oustanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

Since Gellar's role was filled by Alicia Minshew since her 1995 departure, her appearance may have a minor "quirk" factor. Word is, she'll play a Pine Valley Hospital patient who suffers delusions that she's Kane's daughter.

As the series has started winding down, Josh Duhamel and Carol Burnett have also returned in episodes that symbolically bid their own characters "farewell."
