Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars to Perform on Wednesday's 'The X Factor'
by Richard SharpWhile contestants on "The X Factor" might not have much to be thankful for on Wednesday night's double-elimination round Thanksgiving Eve edition, audiences may fare a bit better, as Kelly Clarkson and Bruno Mars are slated to perform on the show.
According to Entertainment Weekly, "Clarkson plans to sing 'What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)' and Mars will perform 'It Will Rain.' This week’s theme: 'Giving Thanks.'”
Clarkson's performance brings her back together with Simon Cowell, who helped her win "American Idol" and go on to become a best-selling pop singer. She recently debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts with her new album "Stronger," and just announced tour dates for 2012.
With "It Will Rain," Bruno Mars will be sure to please the remarkably rabid fans of the record-breaking "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn."
The song is the first major single released from the movie's soundtrack.
As we reported yesterday, with the field narrowed to the final nine hopefuls, FOX has announced that this Tuesday night, "The X Factor" fans will be cutting the field to the final seven immediately following the performance show.
Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EST, the results show will let the audience know which two contestants have been sent packing. In the meantime, audiences will be treated to some quality pre-turkey entertainment, which is more than we can say for football fans watching the halftime show of the Lions-Packers on Thursday.
