Watch the Trailer for Channing Tatum's New Movie 'Foxcatcher'
by Andy NeuenschwanderIf you're a fan of Channing Tatum's face, you might want to avert your eyes for the last few seconds of this trailer.
The newest teaser trailer for "Foxcatcher" is out, and it proves that Steve Carell and Channing Tatum are ready to take on some serious, dramatic roles. This thing is intense.
The movie, which is based on a true story, centers on Mark Schultz (Tatum), an Olympic wrestler whose relationship with with his sponsor John du Pont (Carell) would lead to serious consequences. The result is a psychological drama that received much buzz at Cannes, particularly around the performance of Carell.
But it isn't Carell's dark, dramatic turn that gets the focus in this trailer. Rather, the video focuses mostly on Tatum, mostly likely in part to cater to larger audiences than the indie crowd the movie will already pull. With "22 Jump Street" currently running in theaters and Tatum having been recently tapped to play Gambit in the upcoming X-Men movies, the "Magic Mike" actor is the biggest draw the movie has for the average moviegoer.
However, there will undoubtedly be reason to go to see Carell play completely against type, and to see Mark Ruffalo be Mark Ruffalo.
Will Tatum and Carell end up pulling Oscar nominations for "Foxcatcher?" With the movie releasing in mid-November of this year, they would certainly be poised to do so.
