Watch a Sneak Peek of Katy Catanzaro's 'Ninja Warrior' Finals Run
by Andy NeuenschwanderWatch out Japan, Katy Catanzaro is coming for you!
The five-foot-tall former gymnast wowed audiences when she became the first woman to complete the "American Ninja Warrior" semifinals course, a grueling set of timed obstacles that only the strongest and swiftest athletes can maneuver.
For example, the preliminary course ends with a 14-foot wall that the contestant must scale, which considering Catanzaro's small frame is a tough task.
With Catanzaro clearing the semi-finals, she's set to take on the finals in Las Vegas. Should she clear this course, she'll qualify to head to Japan and take on the original Ninja Warrior finals course, which only a select few contestants have ever completed. No American contestants, male or female, have ever been crowned a Ninja Warrior champion.
NBC has released a sneak peek of Catanzaro's finals run, and it looks promising. We only get to see the first few obstacles, but she clears all of them, including the one that knocked her out of competition last year. However, she does have a bit of trouble with the third obstacle, so hopefully that's not a bad sign.
Catanzaro's run will air during the "American Ninja Warrior" finals this Monday, September 1st. Should she advance, she'll attempt the rest of the stages during the season finale, which airs September 8th.
