Watch Season 1 Episode 1 of 'Awake' Two Weeks Before It Airs!
by Andy NeuenschwanderYou may or may not know about NBC's upcoming procedural "Awake," starring Jason Isaacs (he played Lucius Malfoy, you know). Whether you're really excited about it or you've never heard it before, you watch watch the entire first episode, right here, two weeks before it premieres.
The show was created by Kyle Killen, whose previous project "Lone Star" was critically well received, but largely ignored by audiences... probably because it centered on a con man living two lives with two beautiful wives and making lots of money during a time when most families were hit hard by the recession. Wrong place, wrong time. And a shame, too, as the show was well-written, and the trio of James Wolk, Eloise Mumford and Adrianne Palicki were excellent.
Killen apparently has a bit of a fixation on the whole double-life thing, as "Awake" attempts the same theme (but in a more family-friendly way). Isaacs plays detective Michael Britten, who gets in a devastating car wreck with his wife and son. From that point on, Britten begins living two realities: he'll go through the day in a world where only his wife survived the crash, then go to sleep and wake up in a world where only his son survived.
