Watch Ryan Seacrest Try to Sing on 'American Idol' Finale

Watch Ryan Seacrest Try to Sing on 'American Idol' Finale Ryan Seacrest is an excellent host. Through his many years as the host of "American Idol," not to mention his work as the host of his own radio show, Seacrest has proven time and again that he has the poise, the charm, and the improvisational skills to lead any audience by the hand through a two-hour live television event.

However, Ryan Seacrest is not a singer.

He proved it on this week's "American Idol" finale, where he attempted to sing "Right Here Waiting For You" for a few bars, on his own, on stage, on live TV. The segment began with Seacrest's own family introducing him, followed by his brief warbling, followed by the much appreciated introduction of Richard Marx himself, who helped Seacrest finish the song.

To his credit, Seacrest wasn't exactly terrible. We've seen what truly bad singers can be like during the audition process of "American Idol" in the past, and it isn't pretty. We're not saying that Seacrest singing anything is pretty either, but it's at least in the general area of the right key.

Seacrest wasn't the only non-contestant to sing on the stage that night: The current panel of judges also performed as Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Harry Connick, Jr. sang "True Colors" and "Go Your Own Way" together.

Of course, the finale also featured the crowning of the season 13(!) "American Idol" winner. The group had been pared down to just two: Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene. Like most seasons in the past, the title ultimately went to the male contestant, Caleb, who will go on to produce a full album.
