Watch Pete Holmes As the Worst Sherlock Ever

Watch Pete Holmes As the Worst Sherlock Ever When Benedict Cumberbatch plays Sherlock Holmes, he's a brilliant master of deduction, figuring out every detail about a person's life at a single glance.

When Pete Holmes plays Sherlock Holmes...well, it's a different story.

This sketch from "The Pete Holmes Show" has the comedian playing a version of the famous detective with his last name that isn't quite so good at deduction. In fact, he's pretty terrible at it. He gets just about everything wrong, and it's hilarious.

Holmes has made a series of sketches reimagining the heroes of TV and film as more inept versions of themselves, and has done it so well that it led him to get his own TV show. Holmes started with his "Badman" series of web sketches, in which he played a completely inept version of Batman. Once his show started, Holmes parodied the X-Men and James Bond, and has now landed on Sherlock.

Meanwhile, in the realm of the "real" Sherlock Holmes, creator Steven Moffatt has claimed that new scripts have been commissioned for a fourth season of the show. However, it might be a while before said scripts can be produced, considering the rare availability of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, who have both seen an increase in roles since starring in the crime drama. Cumberbatch recently played Khan in the "Star Trek" sequel, Freeman currently stars in the "Fargo" television series, and both actors played starring roles in "The Hobbit" movies as Bilbo and Smaug.
