Watch Maya Rudolph Impersonate Rachel Dolezal
by Andy Neuenschwander
She may be done with "Saturday Night Live," but that doesn't mean Maya Rudolph is done impersonating big names in the news.
Rudolph appeared on fellow former "SNL" cast member's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" to chat, and Meyers brought up the fact that when "SNL" members leave the show, sometimes a big news story comes up that makes them wish they were back.
"This happens sometimes when you leave SNL," Meyers said. "Something will happen in the news and people will say, 'It's such a shame you're not there.'" Meyers was, of course, referring to Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who posed as black for years, serving as the head of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP.
With that, Meyers offered Rudolph a wig and the two of them re-enacted a scene between Dolezal and a reporter in which Dolezal said she didn't "understand the question" when she was asked if she's really African-American.
Rudolph's impression, though unrefined, was still pretty spot-on. Check out the video below:
