Watch Lady Gaga Sing a 'Sound of Music' Medley and Totally Kill It

With all the crazy costumes, makeup and accessories, it's easy to forget that Lady Gaga can totally sing.

So, on last night's Oscars telecast, Gaga made sure to remind us.

It was bold to follow up the moving musical performance of "Glory" by Common and John Legend, but the show decided to do a tribute to "The Sound of Music," which swept the Oscars in the year of its release with five awards.

After a brief intro from Scarlett Johannsson, Lady Gaga came out in front of a full orchestra and performed all of the best-known songs from the musical, including "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and of course the title song, "The Sound of Music."

Any skeptics were quickly silenced as Lady Gaga proceeded to absolutely slay each song. Following her performance, Julie Andrews herself came on stage and congratulated Gaga on the performance with a hug.

Twitter exploded with positive reviews of the performance. "Congratulations to Lady Gaga and Julie Andrews for a most emotional moment on this year's Oscars. Oops, forgot to be satirical," wrote Steve Martin. Ellen DeGeneres, who hosted last year's Oscars, added, "@LadyGaga made me want to climb a mountain. She also made me want to ford every stream and I don't even know what that means."
