Watch Jack Black Announce the Return of Tenacious D in Epic Fashion

It has been more than five years since the last time Jack Black's legendary band Tenacious D released an album. So you can bet that the announcement of the band's newest studio project is going to be pretty epic.

Sure enough, Tenacious D released a video yesterday telling the story of the past few years, including how Jack Black became a huge movie star while his bandmate Kyle Gass ended up in prison. The ensuing story includes celebrity cameos, the death of Val Kilmer, a training montage, and all sorts of other ridiculous and awesome stuff.

The video is here to announce Tenacious D's third album, titled "Rize of the Fenix," which will be released in May. Though the announcement video isn't a full music video, the end of it does feature a montage song by the band, giving you a little taste of the face-melting comedy-rock that you can expect from the album.
